Happy Memorial Day! :)

I am very pleased to be able to announce the winners of the Writer’s Unite Writing Contest that was recently held!

First off, before getting to the exciting part ( :) ), I want to thank eevverybooddyyyy. XD But seriously, thank you to Soleil for heading this contest up and recruiting us along, thank you to my fellow judges (Faith P. Jesseca, Sierra, Rayray, Aiden, and of course, Soleil), and thank YOU for entering, contest-enterers! :D There would be no contest without the writers who showed their bravery in sharing their writing with us. So appreciated, and  I’d also like to say you all did a great job. The writing pieces were commendable, and you can be proud in them. :) (not the boastful kind of proud, of course! But the satisfaction of God’s gift in you)

So, you wanna know who won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, right? Well, let’s hop to it then!

Award, Trophy, Laurel Wreath, 3Rd, Third Place, Success

And 1st place goes to…“In Honor” by Rebekah Eddy

A HUGE congratulations to you all!!!

And again, thank you to each who entered! Just because your story wasn’t chosen among the three doesn’t mean you should stop writing. Keep writing always, and do it for the King, our True Sacrifice!

God bless you all!

Artsy?

Hi peoples. I feel like I’ve kind of disappeared from my blog for a bit…but I guess, honest moment: it happens frequently.

Today I have  mainly a question. First, are any of you people crafty? Like, do you have loads of washi-tape and paper-items, and pens, glitter, glue, etc.? I need to talk to you. Where do you store it, and how do you store it? I’m just looking for some tips and would love to talk about such stuff. One of the places I am happiest is sitting at my desk surrounded by my paper-y-craft stuff. I’ve got about 100 rolls of washi-tape (including decorative ducktape – don’t judge me. XD I have saved up for this stuff, and gotten some as gifts. <3), stationary up the wazoo, pens and pencils and markers, glitter and glitter glue of many variations, and more stuff. Paper stuff makes me happy. :D But the problem is storing it, and keeping it easily accessible. I keep my washi-tapes in a pretty box, and most of my stationary in likewise pretty boxes/folders, and then keep these things on two small bookshelves, but they’re overflowing. I don’t even have enough penpals to keep up with my love of decorating letters/envelopes (I think this partly has to do with the fact that most penpalers my age are married, or busy in college, or something along those lines).

I’d show pictures, but…let’s just say me and our camera don’t get along too swimmingly and…yeah.

I’m not actually too concerned about my mess, but I am interested to see how other people organize they’re craft items! :) So, share away, and if you have pictures, I’d love to see. I don’t know if you can share pictures in comments? If not, you could always email them to me (go to my ‘contact me’ page). :)

On another subject, April 15th is quickly approaching!!! Do you know what that means?? The writing contest!!

I also have more posts I want to do…like one about something HTTYD related…not promising anything though, because life gets busy, as it has been lately.

I’ve been taking care of a cute little girl on some days, feeding neighbour’s animals every day (they have baby sheep!!! *Sigh* so cute!!), and just trying to get life-y things accomplished, all while trying to stay on top of my Reading List that just keeps growing. I should have some reviews coming up, God-willing!

But I shall leave off for now. Happy Saturday, and may you enjoy a weekend of rest!

Get Ready…

…Because a group of writers (including myself!) are soon hosting a Writing Contest!! The gal behind the original idea and our Contest Captain (hehe) is Miss Soleil, at her blog Reviews by Soleil. She has gathered us hosts together (about 6 of us, including Soleil), and got Faith P. (Stories by Firefly!) to make us some looovely graphics to represent this contest, affectionately dubbed “Writers Unite 2016”.

So, how about some details?

image (1)

So yes, in case the image doesn’t show up, the exact details are that it begins on April 15th, and ends on May 16th, and the theme is SACRIFICE. Each blog will be giving a specific writing prompt for the enterers (new word, folks) to use to write their entries. There will be an email to send your entries to, and winners will be announced on a specific date to be revealed, with prizes too. It promises to be lots of fun!

So! Make you sure you stay tuned so you can join in the writing fun! We look forward to it!

I’ve been readin’, I’ve been writin’, I’ve been singin’.

Ehh, not entirely true, but I felt a random title was in order, and that’s what came to mind first. :D I mean, I have been reading, and I have been writing, and I guess I have been singing (This is Not a Test, baby. TMac.), but that is not really the point now, is it? “I’m not quite sure,” you say in a British accent.

Alright, onward and forward!

Yes, books! I said I’ve been reading, after all. :) I just finished “Light of the Last” and it was beyond amazing!!!! I will be sharing my review with you very soon, God-willing! I just adored the book :) I will be beginning “Miriam” today, and looking forward to it. And then, as the third picture shows: I have a bit of Biblical fiction to be reading! Besides “Miriam” I have “Risen” by Angela Hunt, and “The Prophetess” by Jill Eileen Smith. I am very interested to see how they are.  Hopefully I’ll get all of them read in a good amount of time!

As for writing, I’ve just been writing in one of my stories :D When I started it a few months ago, it was meant to just be a quick, side-story type thing, but it’s turned into more, which is always fun. :)

Also in news of writing, the Love is in the Heart contest has ended and the two winners were announced on Valentine’s Day. I was so pleasantly surprised to find out my story was second! It really blessed me :) Lesa did a GREAT job hosting this fun writing contest and I’m looking forward to future contests! :)

What are you busy with, readers?

“Love is in the Heart” Writing Contest!

Hello my friendly readers! Today I’m sharing about a writing contest that a friend is putting on – it sounds pretty fun, and I’m hoping to join in! I’m reblogging her post to help spread the word:

~LOVE IS IN THE HEART CONTEST~

“I’ve decided this will be a Valentine’s contest, with love being the over-all theme. It can be romance, but doesn’t have to be. Other types of loves stories are worth celebrating too. (mother/child, best friends, etc.) Any genre is accepted Romance, Western, Cozy Mystery, Children’s, MG, YA, NA, MA (Middle age, I’m thinking of readers my age, lol!), and the list goes on- as long as it’s fiction and clean. (No horror, please).

The word limit is 5000 words. No minimum word count required.

The deadline for your entry(s) is noon, on February 1rst. I’ll announce the winner(s) on (drumroll, please) Valentine’s day! (Big surprise, huh?)

In order to have a contest we need entries, so it will take at least 5 entries to hold one. If we can’t garner enough interest, then we may have to cancel, but hopefully, you will all get inspired and write your hearts out with love!!!

If we get 5 entries, we’ll only have one winner, but if we get 10 entries, we’ll have a first and second place. If we get at least 14 entries (In honor of February 14th) we’ll have a first, second, and third place! You may enter more than one story if you wish. Please make it one you haven’t won in a previous competition.

This would be a great time to spread the word about this contest, and invite your friends to the group or share my blog link so they can participate!

You’ll also be welcome to beta swap/read, and critique each other’s stories by posting an ad under the files tab so you can polish them up for submission!

Prize(s) are yet to be determined, but will be rather limited as your host is providing the spoils. (No trip to the Bahamas, yet! But who knows as time goes on what will happen, lol!

Your stories, and the rights to them will be yours to keep. (They will not be published in any shape or form). Please mull around the idea and let me know if you come up with something. I need to know fairly soon if we’re going to reach our goal for the number of stories we need to continue with our contest.”
