All is Love

Happy Valentine’s Day. :) I don’t really celebrate this holiday or give it much ‘stock’ myself, but it does bring to mind ‘love’ and ‘romance’ doesn’t it?

Pretty much my life as a whole. Unless they want to hear about what book I'm reading.

Haha, I do like to joke about my single-ness, but in truth I am not actually worried about it. Because I want the right man, not just a boyfriend.

Today I want to share something with you, doesn’t matter if you’re female, or male, single, or married, etc. This is for everyone:

You may be wondering why I am sharing The Articles of the Code (which is from Chuck Black’s books “The Knights of Arrethtrae” and “The Kingdom Series”) on Valentine’s Day. What does this have to do with love or romance? Well…quite a bit actually. I have this poster on my wall, and as I was reading it the other day, something hit me – these words are not only applicable to how I want to live my life, but what I want to look for in a future spouse. I want a man who will honor the King (our Lord) with his whole life and serve Him as God only. I want him to hold truth, justice, and honor as important. I want him to have a servants heart, always willing to serve, and ultimately living for the King above all else.  I don’t want him to abandon me – I want us to work side by side in all things. I want him to persevere in all fervency in knowing the Lord and fighting evil, and leading me and our family to do the same.

Every trait on that poster I want my future husband to have, and I also want to possess such admirable traits.

I am putting this to a spouse, but these traits can also be applied to our everyday life, no matter who we are, no matter what our situation is.

And any single young women reading this, I want to say to you: don’t give up. Don’t settle. If God wants you to marry, He will provide a way. Don’t be afraid if it takes longer than you would like – He hasn’t forgotten you, I give you my word! He will bring that right young man into your lives at the right time if that is His will. Be open to Him and He will guide you. He loves you more than any man ever will and will provide for you. If He wants you married, He will bring the right one to you. Trust Him. I know it’s hard. I know it can be scary, but please, wait for His best.

Also remember that no mortal man is perfect. God’s best for us will be perfect for us. That doesn’t mean he will be perfect – neither are we! But that he will be right for us just as we are right for them. :)

May you all feel treasured by our Heavenly Father today and always!! His love is everlasting! <3

Pinterest Favourites Friday Week 20

Good day to you, readers! I am finally getting around to doing another Pinterest Favourites post. So, let’s just dig in. :)

I love this for so many reasons!.

I love this a lot. It’s so cool, and also resembles how we live our lives as followers of God – we are Warriors of Jesus!

Yayayay! We are...Dragonites! HTTYD fans #dragonitesunite

Found out recently, that we HTTYD lovers now have a proper name for ourselves – Dragonites! How epic is that?

Without love, we are nothing.

Love covers all. Truly. I’m learning a lot about this, and it’s haaaaarrddd, but so worthwhile as we want to shine as our Savior does!  1 Cor. 16:14 “Let all that you do be done with love.”

'Today Me will live in the Moment, unless it is Unpleasant, in which case I will eat a Cookie', Cookie Monster Quote. Hehehe! Sounds good Cookie Monster!

I like Cookie Monster’s reasoning very much.

Haha yep!

This is the truth. XD

The Sand Cat - my new favourite cat. I need one one. Now.

A Sand Cat. Which I obviously need quite desperately!! :D

For more pins, you can visit me on my Pinterest board Here. :)

What I’m reading:

GIVEAWAY! The Pharaoh's Daughter by Mesu Andrews, giveaway ends 6/30/15.

It’s taken me a bit, but I am finally able to read this beautiful book, and with joy too! :)

What are you reading, and pinning (if you have Pinterest)? :)

I seriously need this cup. I mean, how amazing is that?!?! I love it :D

Disney's Tarzan and Jane.. such a good movie!

Because I love Tarzan and Jane, and my sister and I recently watched “Tarzan”. :)

I don’t often pin Gif’s (“But when I do…” Yes I’ve been on Pinterest too long!) but it’s HTTYD and it’s funny. Plus I’ve seen this episode of the show. (Yes again – there are HTTYD shows, not just movies!)

Funniest Minion Quotes Of The Week

Hehe. XD

Verity Poldark from Poldark, actress Ruby Bentall - she is so sweet!

Because Verity from Poldark is such a sweet character. I really am hoping she gets a happy ending!!! <3

Very true.

What I’m reading:

I just recently finished beta-reading a friend’s book, and have now begun this book:

Through Waters Deep by Sarah Sundin

Beautiful cover, beautiful story. I love the main character, Mary, especially. Even though I’m only a couple chapters in. :)

So, what are you reading/pinning?

Uniquely You

I read something on a pin recently (Not the above image), and while I did not agree with all of it, there was something that stuck out to me and that was in not becoming someone you’re not just so can keep or please the other person interested in you.

Now, this can be in reference to a friend or a romantic relationship. And I think it is sometimes far too easy for us girls to be forged into someone else because we like them and want them to like us. We like what they like – their interests become our own. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it becomes dangerous when we feel we must *change* to be of any interest to the other person, and I don’t think that is right – in our eyes, or in God’s.

You see, God made us unique individuals – and yes we know this, but I think we need to be reminded of it because we can sometimes forget among the hustle and bustle of daily life. We weren’t created to become someone else – we can be *compatible* to someone else, but that is not becoming them.

I am going to pretend for a moment that I have a boyfriend (:D) to give an example.

My boyfriend’s name is Bob. I really like Bob – I might even love him. But I’m worried that I am not enough for him. I’m not feminine enough like Cindy, I’m not strong/tough enough like Sally. I’m just *me*. But is that enough? Without hardly thinking, I start to compare myself to the Cindy’s and Sally’s of the world. And I try to be like them so that Bob will like me more. Because he may only like someone like Cindy, or someone like Sally. I have to become like them for me to “hold up” in Bob’s eyes. Soon, I begin to think that Bob’s a jerk because he only likes *those* kind of perfect girls, and I struggle with the fact that I *know* I can never become that – I know I can never be perfect. So it’s Bob’s fault, right? Because he can’t just be interested in me, can he?

Well, now I’m putting my preconceived notions onto Bob and he has no idea what’s happened.

Maybe he would be more compatible with Cindy, or Sally, but that’s not a fault of mine, is it? No. You see, here is my point: God will bring us the right person. Someone who won’t want us to change from us being ourselves. Our “job” is to just be who God created us to be – beautifully and uniquely us – and glorify Him as we serve Him. Our ultimate purpose on this earth is to love and serve Him – He will take care of all the rest as He loves and teaches us.

I don’t need to change to have Bob love me. Sally doesn’t need to change to have someone love her. Cindy doesn’t need to change to have someone love her. We have a Greater One who loves and cherishes us and joys in us especially when we are exactly as He created us. If Bob is who God has planned for me, then Bob will love me not who/what I am trying to be like. Just me. And that will be more than enough, and the same goes for me of him.

And He won't let any man cut in unless God has chosen him.

Thank you indulging me in my example and pretend boyfriend – it helped me to get my point across. I do well when I think in examples. =)

So yes, please remember: You can only be you. God’s unique and peculiar treasure. You are enough. He will orchestrate your whole life if you let Him, and He will bring your future to pass. Trust Him in everything.

And be uniquely…you.

Hehe, I like these birdies.

Pinterest Favourites Friday week 18

Hello and happy Friday to ye! :)

I am working on a couple posts for hopefully next week – a couple book reviews, hopefully an update, one just never knows. =D But for today, I have pins to share! So, enjoy!

Yep, HTTYD. Looooove it. :)

Beautiful old letters. Have I ever mentioned how much I love letters? :)

19th Century Sailing Photos | Sailor Mouth Saturday: Duck

A pretty image of a pretty ship. :)

Isn’t this a cute necklace? I love it. =)

LOVE this quote

And last, but not least, a favourite quote of mine. :)

For some reason, I haven’t been pinning a ton of things on Pinterest…I guess Summer is too busy for that, unfortunately. ;) I’ve also been busy elsewhere online…have you read Jaye L. Knight’s books? I’ve read the first and then the prequel type one, and was absolutely amazed. My review of “Resistance” is one of the things I’m hoping to post come next week. But yes, so the lovely author, Jaye L. Knight has created a forum for her books and that has been tremendous fun. =)

What am I reading now? Well, I’m stilling reading this:

The Good, the Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness -by Jep Robertson, Jessica Robertson, Susy Flory but I am SO close to being done with it. It is very good, and I’ll have my review soon. :)

I’m also reading this:

A Bride at Last by Melissa Jagears Which is also good, and maybe in a couple weeks I’ll have my review of it (I only just started reading the book, but should finish it next week sometime…we’ll see!)

So, that’s enough for now, methinks. How have you been, readers? :)

Pinterest Favourites Friday Week 17

Pardon my lack of posts between Friday Pinterest Posts…I’ll try to remedy that at some point. ;) Coming this next week, I will be participating/hosting a blog tour for my kindred spirit and her newly published book, so please do check back on Sunday! But for now, enjoy these pins:

Once upon a Time

I just thought this was beautiful. :) As an author, “once upon a time” holds such endearment and possibility!

S’more’s anyone? XD

Haha - need this on a shirt!

This is just too funny!

“When people interrupt me when I’m reading a book: ‘Why can’t you understand that I’m just happy being alone?'” – I get this and relate! XD

What I am reading:

Author Interview and Giveaway: RESISTANCE by Jaye L. Knight #Giveaway #Fantasy #NewRelease     The Good, the Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness -by Jep Robertson, Jessica Robertson, Susy Flory

Both are very good so far. :)

Leave a comment – I’d love to hear from ya!

Pinterest Favourites Friday Week 16

Happy Friday Folkes! :D
How has your week been? Good, I hope. I personally enjoyed the cooler weather over last weekend and early week. =) It also made gardening easier.
So, this weeks pins are as follows:

Beautiful isn’t it? I love tiaras/crowns.

Pink and white bridal designer lehenga. Indian Fashion and Clothing.

Some beautiful Indian Fashion. It says it is a bridal outfit, and you can see why – lovely!

It’s not a great picture of me, but it shows off the book! I was sooo pleased to win one of the copies of “Brothers-in-Arms” on Jack’s blog. You might remember that I entered THIS short story for the give-away/contest. The book is amazing, trust me! Franz and Japhet…their friendship is amazing. It’s very emotionally investing though… XD

So with that I shall depart! Comment and tell me what you’re reading/pinning/etc.! Have a good weekend. :)

Just a Short Update

I am aware that it is Friday, and I would normally be posting the ‘Pinterest Favourites’, but I wasn’t able to put together such a post this time. I may change the frequency in which I post Friday-Pinterest posts; perhaps to every-other Friday. With summer here, it isn’t quite as easy to find the time to schedule a ton of posts for me. :)

But I thought I would update quick and say that my newest nephew finally joined us last Sunday!! Well, I didn’t meet him till the following day, but oh my word, is he precious!

And actually, with that piece of news, I shall leave you. =) Tomorrow I have a book review of a lovely tale, so be on the look out for that!

hahaha, laughed out loud for this! XD Plus, if the world goes bad, and there's no food, we'll be the safe ones ;)

(Hahaha, okay, so I couldn’t help leaving with one funny pin…. XD)

Pinterest Favourites Friday Week 15

Another Friday, another post! I thought I was going to have to miss this one, because I have been rather ‘down and out’ recently because of some severe back pain, but praise the Lord it is slowly slowly slowly getting better! At least enough so that I can do this post. :) So I think I’m just going to jump right in:

I just really love this. ^.^

Made Mum and I laugh. Yes, we love nutella!

I Just Wanna Have Abs...olutely All The Nutella

One more Nutella pin… :D I just wanna have ABS…olutely all the Nutella.

XD ” When I’m out with my mom and see HTTYD merchandise: MOM: What are you doing?  ME: Can I please has?!”

Hehe, love this. And you know, couldn’t have a week without pinning something HTTYD! It’s nearly impossible!

Metallic Blue And Black Lace Masquerade Mask Blue by SOFFITTA

And a masquerade mask! I love these things.

I recently finished reading “A Dream Not Imagined” by Shantelle Mary Hannu, which you will all get to hear about again soon when I post my review. :) I am currently reading “Meant to Be Mine” by Becky Wade. :)

What are you pinning and reading this week? :)

Pinterest Favourites Friday Week 14

Good tidings to ye!

Shall we begin right off with the pins?

Perfect!!! It's pretty AND it will keep my pretty-much-destroyed fountain feather pen safe from our cat :D

Isn’t this beautiful? I think it is quite fetching, and I would really like it, because it would keep my feather dip pen safe from our cat who likes to destroy it…

I thought this was adorable! I might have to do this in my own home one day. :)

I have no idea how this would be done, but it is cool. HTTYD. :)

Hiccup Horendous Haddock the Third

And why not another pic of something HTTYD related? Hiccup of course. :)

Hiccup, Stoick, and Valka. The Haddock Family *sniff* and *tears*

This makes me sad. If you’ve seen the movie, (How to Train Your Dragon 2) you know why.

You are worth it.

And to end on a serious note…How true and amazing is this? Beautiful.

I’ve been reading plenty. I finished “The Choosing” by Rachelle Dekker which I will be reviewing on the 27th.

The Choosing - Rachelle Dekker,

And now I am reading “Five Glass Slippers” by the various authors.

Five Glass Slippers: A Collection of Cinderella Stories

And as a bonus to finish off this post, here is some info on a free book you can get soon:

Do you like free books? "A Mighty Fortress" will be free May 18-22, 2015. Free May 18th-22nd 2015

I reviewed “A Might Fortress” by Faith Blum HERE.

And with that, I wish you a good Weekend!
