Join me today in the blog tour for Sarah Holman’s new release, “There was Always Laughter in Our House”, as she shares an introductory bit into this book!
“I’m writing a book about our family. I’m including a lot of the funny stories.”
All my siblings, who had a moment before been engaged in various activities around the living room, whipped their heads toward me. The room grew silent, and I turned to face them, even though my conversation was with Mom.
“What stories are you going to tell?” Rose asked looking worried.
I rolled my eyes. “Guys, I want to still be your friends after I publish the book. I won’t write any stories that I think will hurt your feelings and you can all read it before it is published.”
They didn’t look convinced. I don’t blame them. We’ve done some pretty embarrassing things. There are a few stories I could tell that would annoy, embarrass, or humiliate my siblings. Of course, since I don’t want to come home to all my stuff out on the curb, none of those stories were shared in my book ‘There Was Always Laughter in Our House’.
So, what did I share? I shared about the time that all the sisters decided to blame our brother for everything for a day, I talk about the challenge of being the shortest in the family, and I talk about wearing skirts. I also share the story of the time I sort of fell into a grave, about our idea of a perfect afternoon together, and the time our kitty ate chocolate. Enjoy these stories, and more in There Was Always Laughter in Our House.
What do you get when you mix two parents who grew up in the city, six kids who have always lived in the country, and add homeschooling? You get a whole lot of laughter!

I agree – great guest post she wrote! Ditto. Thanks for commenting, Deborah!
This sounds like a fun and interesting book to read. I have only read one book about a real homeschool family and it is called 10 P’s In a Pod. Thank you for sharing about the giveaway and Sarah’s new book.
Love
Ashley
